Google RCS Texts!!

Question

Can someone help me figure out why I cannot hear or see new texts coming in unless the app is open on front of my face?!!!! Even then there is no notification sound or bubble or numbers, nada.... I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING! ALL the settings are correct, i have no clue what to do now. Plus I'm pretty sure someone tried to hack my phone recently idk. I get a lot more spam texts then normal its crazy. Thanking me for signing up for this or that. My email is now being affected, some websites will not recognize my Gmail address at all. Tells me it doesn't exist. Please help??

If you're asking about a Google app it may be beneficial to just ask Google about it.

In settings at top tap rcs chat under your number should show green if not than says something like verify number next step goto phone settings than connection tab turn on airplane mode for minute than off and restart phone
