1. Long-press or Pinch Home Screen
2. Click Settings
3. Click Show search on Home screen
4. Toggle Search Off

Note: Then you can add your own Search Bar Widget and move it where you want.

Thank you for this excellent visual guide! Master stroke attaching a screen recording.

Unfortunately, I do not anticipate your post will catch the attention of those in most need of it. 🫠1791858900233.gif

Or how to rearrange things that get displaced.  Automation is a killer of self-sufficiency.

Long-pressing the Google search bar in One UI 9 didn’t help, and there was no obvious option in the Google app either. Rather than waste any more time looking, I went straight to Google.com to check if it was yet another piece of mandatory bloatware introduced in the update, like AI assistants you can’t disable.

Long pressing the search bar is not how you remove it. Changes to your home screen (with the exception of updated icon and widget styles) can usually be reversed in home screen settings.

There are multiple ways to get to Home screen settings.

Pinch on home screen > Home screen settings > Show search on home screen > OFF

      OR

Settings app > Home Screen > Show search on home screen > OFF

The solution is also detailed multiple other places in the thread you are currently commenting on.

AI assistants can be disabled as well.1792182129927.jpg1792182217499.jpg1792182336303.jpg

I had same problem. On Home Screen off settings, enter "none" on "show search on home screen".

This is for the people who cannot do anything without visuals!
Written instructions are too difficult for some. As evident from my post.

I'm one of those people. 😔 It's a learning disability I've had all my life. Thank you for acknowledging "people who cannot do anything without visuals." 🙏🏻 It's not easy to admit, especially at my age.
It can be quite embarrassing and extremely frustrating at times but such is life. Take great care. ✌🏼

Different people process things differently. I am much better with written instructions.

Not happy with the new update. It should be up to me to personalize my phone pages not Samsung. I have each page organized and I should be able to use the navigation dots to take me to whatever page i want to use. I use duck duck go most of the time. Samsung fix it!

You can disable the new affixed search bar.

Pinch on home screen > Home screen settings > Show search on home screen > OFF

Here is an excellent visual guide on how to do this: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Samsung-Apps-and-Services/How-To-Remove-Google-Search-Bar-One-UI-9-0/td-p/3687453?src=ShareByUserCM
