My Galaxy s25 use to get a notification of my gmail & messages on my screen when it is turned off & stayed there until I wake up the screen. Since last update it is not there anymore. Now there is a pop up notification that appears when the screen is off but for just a very short time, so if you are not looking you will miss it.

Does anybody know how to get just the icon notification back on the screen when it is off?

      Found it, under lock screen, Always On Display. With this turned on my screen looks like this after the whistle & stayed on until I woke the screen. I kept searching what AOD meant but never got a answer so I gave it a try

      Not sure if this is what you are wanting, but try these options;
      1. Go to device settings > notifications > lock screen > select "cards" option.
      2. Enable floating notifications > select "smart pop-up view" > then choose the apps.

      Thanks but not for the Lock Screen, just when the phone is off, the smart pop up view allows it to be a floating icon, like gmail, that floats on all screens. I'm asking about when screen is off & I gat a whistle notification that I have just received an email or text, I use to get a white icon from either gmail or message in the center of the screen that would stay there until I woke the screen up so if you did not hear the whistle you can see that you just got an email or text with out waking up the screen. I was able to get the floating pop up once on the off screen but it doesn't stay for long which is no good if you are not looking at the phone when it happens.
      This is where I'm asking about
