After receiving the last security update the battery drain is crazy. The phone overheats for no reason or usage, and the battery drains 20% in just 5 minutes without using it. I hope Samsung fix this problem fast!!!

Look at the battery usage statistics, see if any app or service is misbehaving.

      Close all unused background apps.

I'm having the same issue. My phone gets super hot and drains the battery really fast. Originally was told it was an issue with the WhatsApp backup, but even turning that off has not fixed it

Hello, RayRay87! We hear your frustration, and we want to help get your device running smoothly again. Dramatic battery drain after an update is definitely not the experience we want you to have. I can say, in some cases, this happens because of Background Optimizations. After a major update, your phone runs heavy background processes to optimize apps.
With that in mind, we still want to do everything we can to resolve this matter. Take a look at these quick troubleshooting steps that may help with this matter. Please let us know if you still need assistance after trying these steps.

      Quick Troubleshooting Steps
      1. Check Battery Usage: Go to Settings > Battery to see if a specific third-party app is consuming an unusual amount of power. If you find one, force stop it or uninstall it temporarily.
      2. Update All Apps: Open both the Google Play Store and the Galaxy Store to ensure all your apps are updated to their latest versions.
      3. Give it 48 Hours: System optimization usually settles down within 2 to 3 days after an update.

no. there's no third party apps on our devices. it's the galaxy watch 6, the galaxy book pro 2, the gs23u. it's NOT our fault. how about you guys, with your I finite intelligence, STOP OVERLOADING OLD DEVICES WITH NEW SOFTWARE THAT KILLS BATTERIES?! and what's worse is you won't even take accountability for it. it's every device, almost every update, and it's always on US to fix our own **bleep** because you need a suite of absolutely useless software. especially if the watch loses 1-2% battery PER MINUTE. do you remember what the galaxy watch 6 classic cost when it was brand new? I do. and now you've turned it into a paperweight. you should be buying back the bricked devices and giving us ones that work, since YOU ruined it. but of course you'll never take accountability, gotta protect that bottom line at the expense of your once-loyal customers.

they're trying to blame 3rd party apps. even tho my watch is completely factory reset and is STILL losing 2% battery per minute while idle.

I have the same problem as well on the Galaxy Z fold 6, and I keep getting a message saying a "system process" is overheating the CPU and to restart the phone. It is hot all the time now even after restarting there's no difference. I frequently check the battery usage page and it never indicates any specific app. It's been several days now. I'm going to try updating the apps and wiping the cache partition.

Samsung entire dev team need to be fired and replaced with competent people. can't wait until elon drops his company's smart device. so long, Samsung after that. sick of older devices getting bricked because they push unwanted and useless updates on us.

Ok guys Claude helped me fix it - in my case it's the WhatsApp backup process jamming up for me after the security update. Turning that off returned my phone to normal. Steps to fix - Open WhatsApp, Settings, Chats, Chat backup. Cancel any backup in progress.
Set backup frequency to "Only when I tap" instead of daily.
Force stop WhatsApp from Settings, Apps.
Give it an hour and check if the phone cools down.

they won't fix it, because they'd have to take accountability and admit it was their problem; samsung doesn't do that, they blame everyone else.

My watch and phone are dead after fully charged in 5 hours. My watch would last 3 days now 5 hours my phone is maybe 6 hours tops as long as I do not touch it.
