My motherboard failed recently on my S22U and was told by ubreakifix that it would be $799 to repair. This shouldn't be happening on a flagship after only 3 years. It seems like many people have the same issue. I had the same issues as many where it was stuck in a boot loop and would only respond if it was in a freezer. Even in a freezer I could only manage a few minutes. We need to get free repairs for compensation for these expensive phones.

Because a mother board failure at 3 years is unreasonable and I think the company has an obligation to make it right.

Nope, no obligation on the manufacturer's part after the warranty period ends.  As stated above, no one knows how you handled/mishandled your device.  Not everything is a manufacturer's defect, sometimes things just break.

People pay $1500 - $2000 plus on a flagship phone, but don't pay $8.99 a month for insurance. Why?

Check your home owners or rental insurance policy and see it's covered under that.

      Best of luck.

Just looked up square trade and that one is $8.99 a month. Might be worth it these days as expensive as phones are now.

You need to shop around. I have an s23 Ultra 512GB and only pay $8.99 a month with a $250 deductible. If the insurance company does not have your model in stock, then they provide you with a current equivalent phone, so an s25 Ultra in my case.

I usually get my insurance through my carrier as they usually have a good rate for being one of their customers, so check with them first. Unless, of course, that's the $19 a month plan that you meantioned.

This, unfortunately, doesn't help you with your current situation. Sorry.

"This shouldn't be happening on a flagship after only 3 years."  This can happen to any phone at any time.  No one knows how your phone has been treated/handled.  Your  phone is 3 years old and, presumably, in constant use.  Stuff happens.  Doesn't make it Samsung's fault or responsibility.  There's a reason warranties are for one year - if any manufacturing defect is going to be exposed, it's generally exposed within the first 6 months.

I disagree! My phone has no scratches, never dropped or exposed to heat/cold. This isn't a one-off issue! It's clearly related to the software update. It IS Samsung's fault since the issue only occurs when the software update takes place. At $1300, most would expect a quality product. This is the worst Samsung I've had. I knew I should've ditched Samsung when they phased out the micro SD slot. BTW... don't buy their appliances either. I just replaced a Samsung fridge after only 6 months! Samsung quality isn't what it once was.

I totally agree. I'm having the same issue and happened after the upgrade. Ironically,my watch went out as well after the upgrade!

With everyone having this issue, it's clear that Samsung has garbage motherboards and components.

Do some research and you'll find this is not operator error.
