Guys Samsung is literally the best, they're so innovative. Yet we still have to deal with notification sound being the exact same volume as the messaging app.

I feel like it's pretty straightforward.... people don't want to hear their notifications as much as they want to hear a text go off?

Even though we can make the sounds different, a lot of the times when you're busy, you hear a quick chime, you can't tell if it was the text message or notification sound. Being a business owner I want to know when I'm getting a text message that needs to be addressed.

Let's get 100K likes on this post to light a fire under their butts!!!

Thanks Samsung!

You mean you made a different sound for messsge, but still can't tell the sound is for other notification or text message?

      Barely three f****** phones too

Unlike most people I don't just sit around, I'm f****** busy, dont have time to paying attention to what sound my phone makes.
There's heavy equipment, saw is generators f****** chippers there's things happening I don't want to guess which f****** sound went off

I would just like it to be able to shut notifications off and keep text messaging sound on.

Without having to go through every single app and no turn off notifications

There is a way to do it. Need to set something up first.

      1. Go to Settings -> Notifications -> Do not disturb -> App notifications

Select the message app. In my case, Messgaes. Click Done on right hand top corner.

Now, once you turn on Do Not Disturb mode, all notifications will mute (only your message app will have sound). Of course, you can set allow calls under the Do Not Disturb settings too.

      2. This is optional. If you want more advance, you can use Modes and Routine to set something like...

      - If you arrive your work, Then enable Do Not Disturb mode (which is the setup you have configured before)

That means if you go to work (if your work place is a fix location), it will turn on DND for you automatically.
