I bought the SmartTag2 some days ago, and then I tested it on an airport and then I could find it, after actually finding it, I came home and I realized how the SmartTag2 would work If almost No one in my city Uses Samsung, they use mostly IPhone, with the Function of the SmartTag2 that finds itself using close Galaxy Devices, how is it gonna work if there is no Galaxy Devices nearby, did I lost my money?, I am not asking for Warranty or devolution, I am just Asking you guys what to do if you lost the item and no one uses Samsung nearby

    Hi MatiasAvilaT,

Thank you for reaching out. We completely understand your concern about using the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 in an area with mostly other brand users.

The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 relies entirely on the Galaxy Find Network to update its location when it is out of your phone's personal 120-meter Bluetooth range. It does not have its own GPS or cellular chip.

However, you still have built-in safety nets. Here is exactly how the tag behaves and what you can do if you lose it:

    1. Set Up "Lost Mode" Immediately:

The SmartTag2 features a built-in NFC (Near Field Communication) chip. If you lose the item, you can activate Lost Mode inside the SmartThings Find app.

    • How it works with iPhones: If someone finds your lost item, they can tap the SmartTag2 against any smartphone with NFC
    • A web page will pop up on their iPhone displaying a message from you alongside your registered contact information (like your phone number) so they can call you.

    2. Turn On "Notify When Left Behind":

Preventing a loss is your best defense. In the SmartThings app, turn on "Notify when left behind". If you walk away from your keys or bag, your Samsung phone will immediately alert you the moment the Bluetooth connection drops. This ensures you can turn around and grab it before it is truly lost.

    3. Check "Last Known Location" and History:

Even if there are no Galaxy devices nearby to update the live location, the SmartThings Find app keeps a 7-day location history. It will show you exactly where the tag was last connected to your phone. You can use this map history to physically travel back to that exact area.

    4. Locate It Locally via Close-Range Tools:

Once you re-enter the area where you think you dropped it, your Samsung phone will automatically reconnect to the tag. You can then use:

    • Search Nearby: Use the signal strength meter or Compass View (if your phone supports Ultra-Wideband/UWB) to guide you to the exact spot.
    • Ring Your Tag: Make the tag play a loud sound so you can find it hidden under a car seat, in a bush, or inside a drawer.
