TV Apps aren’t working
Samsung smart TVs are all-in-one entertainment systems, providing easy access to fantastic apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime. If you're experiencing issues with an app that isn't working, whether it is crashing or isn't opening at all, there are a few different troubleshooting solutions you can try. Follow the steps below to fix the problem.
Check for Software Updates
Software updates are released to provide bug and security fixes for your device. If you're experiencing an issue, it's a good idea to check if there is a software update available, as it may solve your problem. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10002051/
Soft Reset Your TV
Rather than turning off your TV by placing it into standby mode, a soft reset involves turning the TV off completely before rebooting it. Just like turning a computer off and on again, this can often solve issues you may be having.
Perform a soft reset with your TV remote:
- Press and hold the power button on your TV remote until your TV turns itself off and then on again.
- Perform a soft reset without a TV remote
- Unplug your TV from the power socket and wait for 30 seconds before plugging it back in.
- Once your TV has restarted, try using the app again.
Reinstall the App
If you’re having trouble with one specific application, Uninstalling an app then reinstalling it can sometimes fix issues with a specific app on your TV.
- Just select APPS > Settings > Navigate to the App >Select Delete
- Press Return > Search > Enter App Name > Select Install
Reset Smart Hub
If you're still having issues with apps on your TV you can try resetting Smart Hub. This should be used as a last resort, as you will be signed out of every app that you use on your smart TV, not just the app you want to fix. Note: You will have to log back into all applications.
Performing a Smart Hub Reset:
- Open Settings> Go to Support > Select Self Diagnosis >Reset Smart Hub > Enter your TV’s PIN (if you did not set this yourself, it’s “0000”

I am having a problem with my Samsung OLED TV and the Hulu app. I can stream all live channels on Hulu except 1. When I select that channel it kicks me out of Hulu and brings me to the Samsung TV home screen. I've tried all the fixes suggested: cold TV reboot, ensuring TV software and apps are up to date, reinstalling Hulu. I can't do some of the recommendations to delete and reinstall the Hulu app (it's pre-installed) and to clear cash but these options aren't available on my Smart TV.
