Dear Samsung Support Team,
I am reaching out to report a critical firmware and scaler issue regarding my new monitor when paired with a modern high end graphics card via DisplayPort
The Symptoms
1 Incorrect BIOS Resolution Inside the BIOS the monitor fails to display a proper Full HD resolution Instead it falls back to a low resolution Safe Mode because the scaler fails to properly communicate its handshake parameters
2 No Signal on Save and Exit Whenever a system reset occurs specifically when selecting Save and Exit inside the BIOS the monitor instantly drops into Deep Sleep mode Because the monitor scaler drops the link faster than the graphics card re initializes the system fails the handshake upon reboot resulting in a permanent No Signal black screen until the operating system loads
Isolating the Bug
Previous Monitor Comparison This exact same modern graphics card setup worked flawlessly with my older model curved monitor It maintained the proper Full HD display signal inside the BIOS and never lost signal during a Save and Exit reboot
Legacy Card Comparison The new monitor only works correctly with an old legacy graphics card When using an old card the monitor displays the proper Full HD resolution in the BIOS and never loses signal during a reboot
Troubleshooting Done Both the graphics card and the monitor are fully updated to the latest available software versions High quality certified cables have been tested ruling out any hardware faults on the computer or cable side
Technical Justification and Compliance
According to official display standards a monitor must never drop its hardware handshake link or enter a deep sleep state during a system reset if the cable remains physically connected

The Hardware Violation As long as the cable is plugged into both active ends and the monitor has standby power the monitor internal circuit is required to hold the Hot Plug Detect line in a constant HIGH state
The Monitor Behavior The monitor firmware incorrectly triggers a disconnected state by dropping the Hot Plug Detect line to LOW the exact millisecond the graphics card momentarily stops data transmission during a BIOS reset It behaves as if the cable was disconnected from the port The graphics card then assumes the port is empty and cuts video transmission until the operating system loads
Conclusion The monitor should never enter sleep mode while the physical cable is connected A No Signal or Sleep state must only be triggered if the cable is physically disconnected never during a quick motherboard power cycle or BIOS save state
Requested Action
Please escalate this ticket to your Display Firmware Engineering Team The monitor requires a firmware modification to its handshake tables and its Power Management behavior The scaler needs a proper timeout delay of 1 to 2 seconds before dropping the detection line during a hardware reset ensuring it remains active to respond to the graphics card prior to operating system initialization
I look forward to an official update addressing this compatibility issue
Best regards
Konstantinos
