I was in the market for an Odyssey Neo G9, the $2000 one, but I had questions about Samsung's policy on dead pixels. The AI couldn't help, (go figure) so it connected me to the wrong support branch.
After that person connected me to the right one, I had to play a game of mental chess to get across what I wanted to know. Apparently "What is your policy on finding dead pixels upon receiving the monitor" was too abstract of a concept for The Customer Service Professional.
First they tried to upsell me on the extended warranty service, a service that does mention pixel failures, however does not answer my question. (also for what it costs compared to what it covers is highway robbery, even for someone willing to drop $2k on a monitor) After reiterating my question, and a signficant delay that can only be chalked up to the otherworldliness of my query, they responded saying that the warranty does not call them "dead pixels." They are called "pixel failures." This neglects the fact the limited warranty page, linked on the monitor's store page, does not mention anything pixel related. A link to the warranty was never provided by The Customer Service Professional.
It was at this point the sheer ineptitude, the unsolicited upsell, combined with the reliability and customer service related horror stories both in the Samsung Store reviews and reviews elsewhere, I decided to go to a competitor. I will not consider Samsung in the future. Buyers beware, you'll lose more in mental function than you'll gain in productivity. Thank you Customer Sevice Professional for saving me the trouble of buying Samsung.
