I had a different brand widescreen monitor that used Thunderbolt 4, and I switched to this new monitor. The monitor is amazing, but the Thunderbolt 5 connection is not stable, stays connected, but the screen goes black while everything stays connected. If you disconnect it and connect it again, it comes on, and than goes black again. I tried different Thunderbolt 5 cables, researching settings etc. Nothing works! I see that a lot of other users have this issues as well. I think Samsung needs to issue a firmware update for Mac for the monitor. Using HDMI 2.1 works perfectly, but I cannot use the hub features. Samsung please find a way to fix this. The monitor stays connected with Thunderbolt 5, but the screen just goes black and does communicate well on Tahoe 26.5.2 M4 Max 128 RAM MacBook Pro.

I have the same issue. It sucks hope Samsung have a fast solution to it, a shame of monitor that is not able to be connected as they announced on their webpage.

Is there any solution for this? I have just bought this monitor for my MacBook Pro 16" M4 Pro but I face this issue, the monitor is unusable....

I have the same issue and makes this monitor unusable for exactly the purpose it was bought for - one cable connection to my Macbook. If there is no new firmware fixing this, I'll be raising a return and refund request.
Pity, as I otherwise like the monitor, but there are other 5K2K options now with a working Thunderbolt.
It's been months now since the monitor was released, why is it so hard to release a patched firmware for such a huge issue?

Same issue here. I managed to find a temporary workaround by connecting an old Belkin TB3 dock, but this limits the refresh rate to 120Hz instead of 144Hz.
It's really frustrating, considering we are not dealing with entry-level devices, we're talking about a high-end monitor and a MacBook Pro with the M5 Pro chip, which is supposed to fully support Thunderbolt 5!
What I find particularly unacceptable for a 1000 USD monitor is the total lack of communication from Samsung. There is no official acknowledgment of the issue, nor any workaround or timeline provided.

I too am experiencing the issue with my MacBook Pro M4 Max. Additionally, I'm having intermittent drops with my Lenovo ThinkPad. Sometimes it stays connected, and other times it will last about 3-5 minutes before it disconnects.

Same issue here with 2025 MacBook Pro 16" — please fix this issue with a firmware update that we can fix via the monitor's USB port, Samsung.

Same issue here. Connects for 5 seconds, screen goes blank. KVM continues to work but this is absolutely useless. I have to use DP or HDMI to get my display working. Samsung, please solve this. I can't do any of the things this monitor promised it could do. Tried a TB4 cable, nada. Tried 5 different TB5 cables - pricey - but still doesn't work.
