My fridge model:RF29BB8600QLAA
Hello,
I've been experiencing filter issues for a while now 😠 no matter if I use an original samsung filter, the water will not dispense. Then I discovered that if I remove the filter, it would dispense, I'm assuming, unfiltered water.
After reviewing some online communities, I learned that I could install an external "waterline" refrigerator filter that goes between the water supply tap (HD/Lowes calls it an ice maker supply line) to the fridge's water line.
New Problem: with this external filter that is only connected to my Samsung fridge via tubing, now the fridge does not want to dispense any water.?
Is there an internal setting that I need to change for it to dispense water without going through an internal Samsung filter? I've seen some users discussing bypassing the filter via a mechanical adapter. Can this work with my model?
I purchased my bespoke fridge (glass doors) in 2022, perfect for 2 years. Then I experience ice water issues when the store associate recommended I use the store brand filter at a reduced price. Back and forth with the Helpdesk, and Samsung decided to replace my fridge with this stainless steel version (a visual downgrade for me). Everything was fine, and now, 2 years in, again, same issue. I just want my filtered cold water again.

Hey Palvarez261! Thanks for reaching out. I'm so sorry to hear you're dealing with this frustrating water issue again, especially after your previous replacement. I know how disappointing it is to lose your cold water access, and let's see what we can do to help.
To help me narrow down the cause, could you share a few more details?
> What specific external filtration system (brand or model) do you currently have connected?
> Have you tried inserting an official Samsung Filter Bypass Cap into the internal filter housing?
Bespoke models require either a standard filter or a bypass cap twisted into place to mechanically open the internal water valve. Without one of them inserted, the fridge will completely block the water flow from your external line.
