Samsung needs to have their version of voicemail app. The carrier version change without effort between companies. I was surprised my unlocked version didn't have visual voicemail.

For years, I used my carrier (Xfinity) visual voicemail but it no longer supports newer devices. I tried Samsung VVM but found it was only visual in the sense of showing me a written list of recorded messages, with no transcription unless I subscribed to a premium version. I then used a third party VM app for several years, and only recently discovered that Samsung VVM is working fully for me, including transcription. I don't know if this is because I bought an unlocked S26 directly from Samsung or because I'm on OneUI 9, but it works.

Even showing you a list of calls without transcription is useful. I still allows you to listen to your messages in the order you want. Granted, the transcript makes it easy to determine spam from friendly, but most of the time I can determine that by just deleting vm from numbers I do not recognize. For years I have used T-Mobile's vvm app and all I had was the list of calls. Since they recently updated my phone plan, I started seeing the transcripts, makes it super easy to know which calls to delete, but I had no problem without the transcript. If I had a doubt about the vm, I'd listen to like the first three words and then delete.
