Not certain how it happened. When I go to my settings, it now says Samsung account with a blank, no photo, profile. How do I change it back to my Google acct. I'm peeved, it's my phone, my money paid for it. I give nobody except myself authority to make (egotistical) changes to my account.

Thank you

The google and Samsung account are often 2 separate things are you wanting your gmail email on your Samsung account or what are you asking

No, in "settings section", it was always my Google Gmail photo. Now it is an empty circle for a profile and says Samsung not Google

I've been at this all day because it messed up my settings including tap to pay. I do NOT want to use Samsung wallet if that's the solution because nobody accepts Samsung wallet and if they do, I don't care. I WANT MY GOOGLE

It is a big problem when I can't use Tap & Pay. You'd certainly be angry too. Actually, my original complaint is listed on a different thread (Issue w/Tap & Pay). I couldn't use Google Tap and Pay.

While investgating the issue with both Google and Samsung techs, discovered everything else on my phone was changed.

Actually, purchased phone new from Verizon corporate store in September. I've been on vacation since September until the end of last week. I never used the tap and pay since I purchased the phone. I used tap and pay all the time on my old Samsung phone. *Note: didn't attempt to use Tap & Pay on this new phone until I returned from a relocation "vacation".

The OP needs to update Google Play System and Services is all they need to do. Reading their disjointed comments, they moved to a new phone.

If you have a Samsung phone, you must be logged into a Samsung account, and that's what will show at the top of your settings. You should also be logged into your Google account for access to Google apps and services. As long as you are logged into Google you will have no problems using your Google wallet. You can check if you are logged into Google by opening your settings (or any Google app) opening Goigle services and see if it shows your name and Gmail account. You cannot even use this very app unless you have and are logged into your Samsung account.

PS - Samsung wallet is accepted almost everywhere that takes electronic payments. I have come across only one place that did not accept it, and I just switched to Google wallet when that happened.

I've never had this issue before. I've had Samsung phones at least 8 years or more. I only got this new phone because Samsung update ruined my battery on my old phone. ALL Samsung users were complaining about it. As a matter of fact, last evening read on YouTube a Samsung users complaining about the bugs ruining his new phone.

Let me repeatedly, I NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE!!!!@

I only purchase Samsung because as an American I want to know where phones are manufactured. I've been asking that question at least 20 years now prior purchasing a phone. Must be an Allied Country.

I uninstalled it because I am under a ton of stress, have a deadline to meet today and this is now going on two straight days of my time.

Tap on the picture and set it to what is your profile picture on your Google account. Very simple for someone such as yourself, who has been in tech since the dark ages.

The settings page NEVER EVER said Google Account.

I just removed all Sansung apps w/1or2 exceptions. Still the settings page has that dumb no photo profile circle under which it says "Sansung account". No help!  BTW: I had OWNED my phone and why do I keep getting emails to agree to Sansung terms?

Next, when I am in the city, going to Corporate Verizon store to have this mess cleaned up. Sansung now sending me msgs "pay for tech". Why? To fix the mess your tech said "yes, that's what we want", everything on your phone using Sansung as preferred.

      Don't want what you're (plural) suggesting. #BigDifference

Or did you forget, quote, unquote "yes, that's what we (samsung) want" - Samsung tech.

You mentioned getting a iPhone did you not? Made in China is it not? Each and every cell phone sold in the States is tested and approved by the FCC.

No. Apple, Inc. recently began manufacturing their Pro Series in India. Apple had been searching to move their manufacturing out of China for awhile now. Negotiations with different countries finally resolved.  India is a USA allied country, now a member of BRIC. One can look at the sealed box and see the country of origin.

Doesn't matter if you remove every app on the phone, when you open settings it will and has always showed your Samsung account.
