Dear Samsung Good Lock Development Team,

I want to share a suggestion about the LockStar feature on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

I appreciate LockStar's ability to customize my lock screen, especially its options to adjust text size, color, and placement. I use these features to prominently display my name and email address so someone who finds my lost phone can easily contact me.

However, I've discovered a limitation that seems to undermine this important purpose.

When my phone restarts, whether intentionally or after the battery is depleted, my LockStar contact information doesn't appear until I unlock the device for the first time. If someone finds my phone and charges or restarts it, they may not see the information I've provided to help return it.

I understand that Samsung offers a separate Contact information feature under Lock screen and AOD. Unfortunately, that feature lacks LockStar's flexibility in text size, color, positioning, and multiline formatting.

My suggestion is that Samsung consider one of the following improvements:

  1. Allow LockStar's customized contact information to remain visible immediately following a restart, before the first unlock, while maintaining the device's security protections.

  2. Alternatively, enhance Samsung's native lock-screen Contact information feature to offer the same text customization options available through LockStar.

Ideally, users should be able to configure their contact information once and have it appear consistently before and after the first unlock, without duplicate messages.

This would be a valuable improvement for accessibility, usability, and lost-device recovery.

Thank you for considering this suggestion and for continuing to improve Samsung's customization features.

Sincerely,

Jerome Cherry
A Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra User

I don't see any reason for the font in the contact information to be larger. If someine finds your phone and is inclined to return it, the text is very readable.

I can see where your coming from, but character size is not the only challenge. LockStar also allows for multiple lines of text and text color options needed for viewing against a variety of background colors.

I have had the same contact information scroll for years and years.  Visibility of the text was never an issue with any of the wallpapers I chose.   If I use a light wallpaper the text changes to dark for contrast and vice versa.  On my backup device, the wallpaper is  light and the text is white, and on my main device the wallpaper is mid range and the text is also white. The text is easily readable.  Text you add to the contact information in the settings will scroll if it's longer than screen width.  I imagine it stays static if it's a short message - don't know, mine is longer and scrolls. Why would I want to clutter my wallpaper with a bunch of stuff that hides it when I took the time to choose a wallpaper I like?
