Hi all:
With Google assistant gone, I had to tweak and eliminate some "just for fun" steps that I had to make it functional with Gemini.
Can I set up a routine with bixby (which I have just used because of the Google Assistant demise) and I will give it kudos as it has improved greatly. I am not sure whether it is at the level of Google Assistant or not.
Can you help me set up a routine to give me (1)the weather, (2) tell me this day in history and (3) tell me a joke with bixby. I don't mind if these items show up sequentially on my phone to view, so I don't know if that would work. I guess is there a way to do this so it talks through the message as it does with a singular bixby request.
In answering please give me the steps using either the Routines item from "Modes and Routines" app and the individual steps in the if_then syntax of routines, or is this feasible with Smart things. I don't think it is, but just asking.

To build this specific morning sequence, you will use the Modes and Routines app (formerly Bixby Routines) on your Samsung Galaxy phone. Because Bixby does not have a single built-in action that combines history and jokes, the trick is to use the "Ask Bixby" custom command feature to chain your spoken requests together.
Here is exactly how to set it up:
Step 1: Open Modes and Routines
Open the Settings app on your phone.
Scroll down and tap Modes and Routines (or Advanced features > Bixby Routines on older software versions).
Tap the Routines tab at the bottom, then tap the + (plus) icon in the top right to create a new custom routine.
Samsung +3
Step 2: Set the Morning Trigger ("If")
Tap Add what will trigger this routine (the "If" section).
Select Time period or Specific time.
Set the time you wake up (e.g., 7:00 AM) and choose the days of the week you want it to run. Tap Done.
Samsung +1
Step 3: Chain the Bixby Actions ("Then")
Instead of opening individual apps, you will use Bixby's voice commands to speak the information aloud.
Samsung
Tap Add what this routine will do (the "Then" section).
Scroll down and select Bixby.
Tap Ask Bixby (or Run a quick command).
Type in your first command exactly as you would say it: What is the weather today?
Tap Done.
Tap the + (plus) icon under the "Then" section to add a second action.
Select Bixby > Ask Bixby again.
Type your second command: What happened today in history?
Tap Done.
Tap the + (plus) icon one last time.
Select Bixby > Ask Bixby.
Type your third command: Tell me a joke.
Tap Done.
Samsung
Step 4: Save and Test
Review your routine list. Under "Then", you should see your three Bixby commands stacked in order.
Tap Save (or Next).
Give your routine a name like "Morning Briefing", choose a custom icon and color, and tap Done.
Samsung +1
When the timer hits your set time in the morning, your phone will automatically launch Bixby and read out the weather, share a fun historical fact, and wrap it up with a morning joke. Make sure your media volume is turned up so you can hear it!

Thanks for the excellent comprehensive answer. Specific times or triggers won't work. I would like to set it up manually. Just push the button on the routine; that would be my if; so I guess the trigger would be my manually starting the routine; i.e. hitting the arrow to start.. Can you modify the steps to accomodate that?

Hello Oxford: Great answer and thanks for the step by step. So good an answer, that I'll ask for a little extra. ..
The if is manual and that's fine. Can I make the "if "voice activated, presumably using a Bixby command. If yes, (1), do I need to make a copy of the routine and modify or can I incorporate the add-on into the existing routine and (2) say the perfect trigger is "morning briefing", do I need to launch bixby, which I can by "Hi Bixby" and do I need to keep bixby also in the trigger, or can the trigger say bixby briefing and would that launch it.
Thanks
