I'm using Google Messages (but think the same holds true for Samsung Messages which I used to use) - open the message thread, long hold on the message you want to forward so that it gets highlighted, then click on the 3 dots in the upper right and select "forward".
You dont use the 3 dots foward isn't on the list. You have to open the text first, tap on opened text and a list of options will drop down and forward is on thar list
There aren't any 3 dots for options... I've ALWAYS used Android phones so I'm accustomed to using that...but they aren't visible on my husband's phone!
To forward a text message in Google Messages or Samsung Messages, open the conversation, press and hold the message you want to send, then tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and choose “Forward.” After that, select the contact you want to send it to and hit send.
Don't highlight the unread text like you think you'd do open the text then tap the opened text and a number of options will drop down and forward is on the list
HELP! I AM NOT ABLE TO FORWARD GOOGLE MESSAGES. ANY SOLUTIONS?I just started using Google messages and do not like it. I'm trying to forward a message. I know to click on it and hold down till it has a check mark. Then to go to the three dots of the upper right corner. When I do so, there is nothing there are no options to forward. My options are Mark as read or block.
I'm sorry to hear that. Wouldn't imagine it should differ between phone models or carrier (i.e. if you have any recent(ish) Samsung phone, ought to be precisely the same interface & behavior with Google Messages - even if we have dif carriers). The only way I don't see what I detailed to you is with my tablets that are linked to Google Messages from my phone. This has been one of my biggest complaints about Google Messages: the behavior on peripheral devices is limited versus what you can do from your "host" device (your phone).
So, I can receive messages on my Samsung Galaxy Tab & respond or send new messages. But I cannot forward messages from the Tab - have to get on my phone to do that. There are a few other actions that are the same way, where it can't be done on a tablet or a WiFi-only phone whose Google Messages is linked to your primary phone. If that's not your scenario than I'm baffled and am sorry I can't come up with anything else.

Yes you can forward a text. Here's how. Don't highlight the unread text open the text first. Tap on the opened text and a number of options will drop down and forward is on that list
Im STILL looking for the missing forward option on a Samsung A15. There is no option to forward, no matter what. 3 dots, only 2 options: marked as read or block. NO FORWARD OPTION.

Don't highlight the unread text like you think you would do, open the text. Do a ling press on the opened text. Then a number of options will drop down and forward is on that list.

Hey Samsung Community,
To forward a text message in Google Messages or Samsung Messages, open the conversation, press and hold the message you want to send, then tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and choose “Forward.” After that, select the contact you want to send it to and hit send.
Thanks a lot!!

only 2 options, not for forward.
When we were automatically switched from Samsung messages to Google, we lost options.
it's 2026 and still cannot forward Google text messages
