Installed system update yesterday. No errors. But, after notification that update installed, immediately says UPDATE PENDING and installs the update again.
Please help.
Love the phone and no other issues.
Tried to chat with customer support, but just get errors after I fill out the forms.

Apparently what is causing the problem is that as of 1 October 2025 update to One UI 8 became mandatory. That update has to come from your service provider. Many service providers have not yet made it available. As a result as soon as the update completes the check for updates feature sees that the date is after 1 October and that it is still at One UI 7 so initiates another update. You need to contact the support people with your service provider or change service providers.

I have a Galaxy S22 Ultra with 760 GB free space and got a notification that I needed the One UI 7.0 update. I select Install Now and it restarts and goes through the install process.... application optimization, etc. After I login it tells me that my phone has bee updated...and I click 'Ok' and the screen goes away. Shortly after that I get a new notification that I need to update One UI 7.0. ....and if I check >settings > updates ....it does indeed show that my phone thinks it still needs to install it. I have looped through 6 or 7 times and this seems like a bug. Anyone else experiencing this?

Thank you very much. Now I understand. A big help because it worked. After several update patches for different months, it has finally stopped.

Hi,
My phone keeps telling me I need to update despite having already installed the update (and the interface looks new so I know it has updated).
I saw another post from last year suggesting to “wipe cache partition”, but when I went to do that it gave me a warning “this can’t be undone”, and so wanted to confirm. Is this safe to do? (Ie is my data at risk if I do this?)
Any other suggestions to make my phone stop trying to update?
Thanks

My S22 was not updating for 9 months and then yesterday it started pushing updates - one for each month since March. When update downloaded, scroll down to check the definition and update dates. I am actually tired of that s...t and then configured software updates, developer option and another in Play Store to "NEVER Update". Then it stopped after August update.

Experiencing the same issue on Galaxy S22. Wiping the Partition didn't resolve the issue.

This is poorly released update. It appears that UI 7.0 is updating over and over again until you look at the security portion which is updating month after month for about 8 to 9 months. So there are 8 to 9 updates which appears to be UI7.0 looping updates. Notification would have been so much better. The best would have been to include all updates in one update. As noted, some of the instructions from Google was miss leading and absolution wrong like factory reset, clear cashe and many other instructions. It was clear that for some reason the technical team also was not aware of this month by month security update required.
Just FYI, you have to keep doing the update until October 1 2025 security update is loaded. Which at this time One UI 8.0 will also be loaded. This update will take a little longer. At this point the phone will report it is current.

If not, and the boot loop is truly inescapable, it may or may not be a hardware failure and you will need to visit a certified Samsung repair center to fully diagnose the issue and have the device repaired by a certified technician.

I am glad I found this thread. My S21 FE finally upgraded to UI7 on 12/18/2025 (or so) and appeared to be stuck in an update loop. I tried freeing up storage, wiping the cache and using smart switch to update. All messages indicated each update was successful, but there didn't seem to be any change in versions. I even took screen shots of the software info page to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Just when I was about to give up, I found one item that changed after wiping cache and using smart switch. I wiped cache again and used smart switch one more time and it finally updated to the current version. Not sure if wiping the cache was really necessary, my phone is finally happy. I didn't count, but I went through at least 10 update cycles.
My wife has a different Samsung Note phone with Verizon and it is still showing as UI4, but at least I know what to expect if/when it updates.
