It's impossible for me to say this with being kind, but it's discontinued and as a result of that, Google Messages is pinned everywhere, in the dock and the app drawer. You can't use Samsung Messages anymore, however there are apps like Samsung Messages that work well.

You must be clicking on the Samsung Messages App which is no longer supported you can hide the app and only click on the Google Messages app.

The only way to make it stop is to discontinue using Samsung Messages and switch to Google Messages or the SMS client of your choice.

In settings than app go down to Google messages and set as default
