I've noticed that on my note 9, that the camera freezes while taking pictures. It's worse while shooting videos with a lot of lagging.
I don't know if anyone one else have experienced this.

@Sopopc123 What settings do you have the camera set to? Also, does this happen every time you use the camera, or just some of the time?

@samsung978531 You have lost this dedicated Samsung Customer. Had a Samsung Phone since Galaxy S and now since I missed the pictures of my son during halloween which i thought i took but the camera froze and the picture is missing. Selling the Note 9 and buying a Pixel 3Xl. #Neveragian

I haven't heard of any issues with Smart Stay. Does the issue occur with Smart Stay off?

Still no issues with the camera since T-Mobile pushed out the ARL1 update to my Note 9 weeks ago and I have used it a lot since then. This awesome phone now works as desired. Thank you Samsung for addressing that annoying bug!

Follow up - So I can with 100% confidence say the issue is fixed with 1Ui and Pie (running CSAA on ATT Note9 512gb). I ran the beta updates until the official update for the ATT model was released last week and I havent had a single issue with the camera. Everything seems to work well on the phone now, with the only issue that I've seen was my keypad disappeared during a call. Happened once and haven't seen it do that since. I FINALLY feel like I have the phone I paid for. A perfect phone (at least for what I need and want).
Hopefully everyone else will get theres going as well. Best of luck everyone!

I'm also having the same issue. Constantly freezes and unresponsive for at least a good 5-10 seconds at a time. Frustrating.

One thing that has always frustrated me was how Samsung denies a well documented issue. Note 3. Note 4 (initiatlly), Note 9... it's always the same regarding issues that are blazed over the internet, and the AI giant Samsung is unaware? That' s worse than having the issue to begin with . When the tech giant isn't "aware", how can their products be?

Samsung exists in "real life" and in that life a company has to be concerned with it's reputation so that it can sell products. It's that simple. The only time a big company would make it known and publicaly address issues (which would risk it's repuation and sales) is if the issue is already becoming mainstream. If it was your company you would probably do similar.
My main issue about this is how slow Samsung has fixed the problem.

Same problem for me. Happens worse in apps that use the camera. However snapchat works flawlessly? I talked to a representive thru chat. They had me clear camera cache, didnt work, did a soft reset and it worked for a day or two then same thing. I have the 512 GB model. No SD card. Tried smart stay and same issues.

Everyone take note...video stabilization makes your video recording lag every few seconds while recording in QHD and UHD, for sure. Turn it off, and problem solved!

That worked out for me. My camera starts with blurriness, in 5 seconds it sharpens. This problem was delaying my photo shoot when capturing the moments. Easy clearing of cache and data made it better...for now.

My "flagship" Note 9 is super laggy too! Both the camera and the video! One of the main reasons I bought the phone was the camera. Samsung please help this is a costly device to not work as it should out of the box.

I'm having these exact same issues as well. Tried all the trouble shooting options as well as hard reset. Did any of these fixes work for you?

It doesn't happen right away after boots. I can't leave my phone in safe mode long enough to test.

Same for me as well This happens especially when I'm recording multiple videos, and starts glitching and lagging on the recording. When I play the recorded clip, it skips the same way. I noticed that my phone recently has been restarting randomly as well. Would you be a to help??

I am having the exact same issue with photos and videos. I missed some very important videos last weekend of my daughter getting engaged.

Mine was doing the same thing, and Samsung messages was screwing up I found out it was due to a theme I was using. Changed themes and so far so good.

Not the fix for everyone! I restored the phone to factory and it still crashes when I go into camera settings.
