I'm hoping someone can help because this is really starting to bug the life out of me.
I bought a watch 8 a fortnight ago & I really can't believe how hit & miss it is to charge it.
It never seems to sit right on the charger it comes with & constantly starts & stops.
I don't think it would bother me as much if it didn't vibrate every time this happens.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you fix it?

Here is some recommended steps to try from online.
Remove the Watch Strap: The strap can sometimes prevent the watch from lying perfectly flat on the magnetic charger. Remove it to see if the charging stabilizes.
Clean the Contacts: Use a microfiber cloth or soft brush to clean the back of the watch and the charger itself. Even minor dust or sweat residue can interrupt charging.
Try a Flat Surface: Ensure the charger is placed on a completely flat, non-metallic surface to avoid disruption.
Change the Wall Adapter: Many fast-charging bricks can cause this "start/stop" issue. Switch to a lower-power brick (like a 5V/1A or 5V/2A adapter) or plug directly into a computer/laptop to test if that improves stability.
Force Restart the Watch: Press and hold both the power and back buttons for 10–15 seconds until it says "Rebooting." This clears temporary software bugs that might affect charging.
Turn Off Vibration: If it's the vibration specifically causing you distress while you try to align it, you can turn off charging alerts. Go to Settings > Sounds and vibration > System vibration > Charging vibration (set to off).
Update Software: Ensure your watch's firmware is fully updated in the Galaxy Wearable app.
Send for Repairs: If the issue is persistent (some report this happens only with specific software updates), it may be a defect. Given you've only had it a fortnight, if the above steps do not work, it is strongly recommended to return it to the retailer or contact Samsung for a warranty repair/replacement, as the issue may be a faulty charging coil.

On the first time of charging I did remove the strap & it did help. I'd really not have to resort to that whenever charging & then wearing though.
I will give the back a good clean, although it really doesn't look like it needs it & definitely didn't need it on first charge because it was straight out of the box.
My eyes are horrendous & I really can't tell if anything is covering it. I don't want to start scratching at it if nothing is there 🙈 Can you recall anything covering yours when you got it?
I'm using the provided charger & I've given the watch a reboot. Will see if that helps any when I'm back home 🤞
Software is updated and I've just turned vibration off for charging.
Hopefully it won't have to go back.

Has this been resolved? If so how?
I had same issue with mine, it would charge a but and stagnate around 10%.
I had a plastic case/cover that you could snap onto the watch face when wearing it.... So it doesn't cover the charging area or near it and didn't cover the glass screen, just the metal edges of the watch. I noticed that when I took this off the watch charger perfectly fine but when it was on it didn't. I know some of you would think well it was maybe obstructing the charging pad or causing the pad to become offset but the case was well clear of the charging pad and didn't obstruct at all.
The only somewhat reasonable guess is that I think it might have caused the watch to over heat and stop charging, although it did have the appropriate aligned vents to the one on the watch.

I bought watch 8 in the summer and a Samsung fast charger a few weeks later. Every time I use the fast one I need to check it's started charging by looking at the app on my phone. If I touch the watch it will stop charging. It doesn't happen with a standard charge.
