- <span;>Hello, there is a problem with my Samsung S26 Ultra. When I am on a phone call, mobile data stops working and I cannot use or browse internet. Also, VoLTE does not appear in phone settings. I contacted phone carrier and they confirmed that VoLTE service is activated from their side. I also visited technical support and have been told that other people have reported the same issue. Is this a software defect?</span;>

1. Enable VoLTE (Voice over LTE)
This is the most common solution. VoLTE allows your phone to use the 4G/LTE/5G network for voice calls, which enables data to work simultaneously.
Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks. Toggle on VoLTE calls (or 4G calling / Voice over LTE).
2. Check Dual SIM Settings (If Applicable)
If you are using two SIM cards, the phone may be using one SIM for calls and the other for data. If the call-receiving SIM does not have active data, it will cut out.
Go to Settings > Connections > SIM manager.
Turn on Data switching and backup calling.
Alternatively, try to make calls using the same SIM that is assigned for mobile data.
3. Reset Network Settings
This resets your Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile network settings to default, fixing potential configuration errors.
Go to Settings > General management > Reset.
Tap Reset network settings and confirm.
4. Other Potential Solutions
Update Software: Ensure your phone is running the latest software, as updates can fix network connectivity issues.
Check Carrier Support: Contact your service provider to ensure VoLTE is enabled on your account, as some carriers require this on their end.
Restart Device: Simple reboots can re-establish proper connection to network towers.

Depending on your carrier, the setting might not appear and be default on, so it not being there isn't exactly a problem. For me, I don't have a setting for it, but it's permanently on.
But it not working is indeed a problem

My issue matches the topic but may differ slightly from other users.
Mobile data on my S26 Ultra (verizon US) will stall about two or three times a day while the status indicates that I have 4 bars or better 5GUW. It seems to stall indefinitely (a minute or more) if I do nothing. I can move to a browser window and confirm that there is no connection.
If switch to airplane mode, it takes about 15 seconds to confirm. Then when I turn off airplane mode, my mobile data has worked every time (about ten instances since I started this).
However, if I am on a call (even a data call such as MS Teams), I am not allowed to enter airplane mode, and I have to disconnect to use the reset process. I would love to know if anyone else is experiencing this.
Should I start a new discussion with this issue?

I have the same issue - I used claude code to debug it from my pc it indicates that the phone's modem is tearing down the provider configuration every 35 seconds and rebuilding it instantly which causes the signal flap.

This sounds like a possible VoLTE compatibility or software issue, especially since your carrier has confirmed that the service is activated. I'd recommend checking for the latest software update and asking Samsung support to verify whether VoLTE is properly provisioned for your device and network. If other users are experiencing the same problem, it may be a wider firmware issue that Samsung needs to address.
