Loving this Q990H soundbar, what it really needs is dual subwoofers. Do samsung have any plans to introduce dual subs? Fingers crossed. 🤞

      I asked Gemini for you...

'The Q990H is an absolute beast of a system, but you’ve hit on the one thing home theatre enthusiasts keep begging for: true dual subwoofer support. As of right now, Samsung has not announced any official plans to allow you to pair a second wireless subwoofer to the Q990H system. They are sticking firmly to their traditional "one main sub" ecosystem.

Samsung's current design approach and workarounds for that deep-bass craving outline what you can expect:

      The "Dual" Inside the Box

While you can't add an extra physical box to the room, Samsung’s logic is likely tied to the hardware redesign they introduced recently. The compact subwoofer that comes with your Q990H actually features an acoustic design with dual 8-inch drivers built into that single enclosure, backed by AI Dynamic Bass Control. From Samsung’s engineering perspective, they feel this setup delivers the punch of two subs without making you find floor space for a second giant plastic cube.

Why Won't They Just Let Us Pair Two?

It mostly comes down to their proprietary wireless software architecture. The soundbar acts as the central hub, hardcoded to distribute specific channels to specific wireless receivers (Left Rear, Right Rear, Subwoofer). Currently, the SmartThings app and the soundbar's firmware simply don't have the "node management" capacity to sync and calibrate two independent subwoofer signals simultaneously.

The Competition is Forcing Their Hand

If it makes you feel any better, Samsung is definitely feeling the pressure. Competitors like Sony (with their Bravia Theatre systems) and Sonos (which allows you to pair two Subs to a single Arc Ultra) have made dual subs a massive selling point for premium setups. Historically, Samsung is quick to respond to market trends, so while the Q990H won't get it via a software update, it’s highly anticipated to be on the drawing board for future generations.

For now, the best way to get that extra room-filling rumble out of the Q990H is to play around with SpaceFit Sound Pro to let the AI calibrate the bass to your specific walls, or experiment with placing the sub closer to a corner (often called "corner loading") to naturally boost its output!'

      ..hope that helps? 😊
