After most of us were very disappointed that the Samsung messages app would no longer be working, I think it was around June 10th or sometime near that date, I was using my S24 Ultra just recently and sending a text, when I found out there's a new functionality regarding theming the app. We can now customize the appearance of the background of Google messages. Just like we we were able to do in Samsung's messages app. When you are INSIDE the Google messages go to the three dots in the corner, select chat theme and you will be able to apply a photo from the Google photos app to it. K? But there's one caveat, you have to do it for every single person you want to text. It's annoying but it's there. I also checked my Note 20 Ultra and the feature is there as well. I still hate the look and lack of functionality of Google messages .they make all the contact icon circles next to the texts so bulky. I need to have a more compact view of all the text messages otherwise you missed some text messages that have gone down in your text history. And you end up scrolling all the time just to see and not to miss messages. I don't care to have pictures of who texted me or the initial in a big useless bulky circle next to the message of who that contact is. And Google messages does not show all caller IDs either. Even though someone is saved in my outlook contacts, it seems like it only shows caller ID for contacts that are saved in a Google account. I hate it! is there a better more efficient text app that is ads free?

😅.. Thanks for the info though.. I've yet to switch but with few days till deadline, might as well jump on the band wagon and see for myself 😒

Hey I can't get my messages from Google messages My photos from Google messages to download to the messages or even to Google photos no matter what I don't want to use one drive I'd love to delete it from this phone completely I hate it and I don't use the gallery I want to use Google photos and now this stupid Samsung won't allow it won't allow any photos from Google messages to download to Google photos they take it to the media file in Samsung
