Is there an actual app that helps diagnose wifi connection issues? My s8 connects to my isp router at 2.4ghz and when tap the wifi icon, it goes to 5ghz, I'm getting random wifi disconnect msgs too. I noticed my s25 goes offline at the same time. Makes me think I'm hacked...

You're likely not hacked. The issue is that your router likely has the two bands bridged, and the phones have a hard time separating them and creating a stable connection. If you know your way around router settings, separate the bands and make two separate networks. Then connect your devices to one or the other. If you don't know your way around the router settings, ask your ISP to do it.

Have you run a diagnostic on your tablet and phone? Specifically the wifi. Have you reset or rebooted your router?

That doesn't tell me where the handshake occurs to tell the connection is. It keeps connecting at 2
      4. The data steering is correct. The on board diags doesn't go deep enough

I've replaced the modem/router yesterday which seemed to be fix things. But nothing changed. The tablet should connect at 5ghz but only will at 2.4ghz. Its been acting up for 4 weeks or so. I used the developer tools and reset the wifi subsystem without luck. My ISP is useless. Xfinity doesn't have any experienced techs. Trying to get a level 2 or higher to troubleshoot this isn't possible. They came yesterday and swapped the modem out without change. He didn't even verify my conclusion of the problem.

Ivd never liked the combination of signals. You lose control of your devices and connections. Im still stuck and I hoped by xfinity swapping the modem out would be a solution but problem still exists. By them (Xfinity) having inexperienced people unable to properly diagnose things really infuriates me. They know having those kinds of people keeps the customer time on the phone very limited bc we get **bleep** off and hang up since there's zero tech support anymore. I got tired of keeping up with tech hoping I could do things myself. Im fed up being unable to fully utilize things I've bought

That's good to know . My connection disconnects and connects as well as will connect at 2.4ghz and when I tap the ssid, it switches to 6ghz connection. I'm waiting to hear back from Samsung rn

I'm unable to figure out this stupid Members app nor website to keep up with your questions. I'm exhausted thinking I can take care of this myself. You've replied but I can't figure things out. Thanks for trying nonetheless

To adjust your intelligent wi-fi settings

      • open the settings app
      • go to "connections"
      • go to Wi-Fi. Tap the tile
      • once in the Wi-Fi settings, tap the dot menu on the upper right side.
      • select "intelligent Wi-Fi
      • once in the intelligent Wi-Fi settings, toggle "turn wi-fi on automatically" off, toggle "detect suspicious networks" on, toggle off switch to mobile data,  and toggle off "switch to better wi-fi networks

see if that helps.  If you still have issues after that, put in an error report the next time your wi-fi automatically switches so the information will still be in the log.  As for which band your phone automatically connects to, that is still an issue with the two bands being bridged.  Your phone obviously finds the 2.4 Ghz network first and when you tap the connection, it automatically switches to the 5GHz network.  Because the networks are bridged, it is not connecting to the 5Ghz network first.  If you separated the bands, as outlined above, you can connect your phone directly to the dedicated 5Ghz network, and it should not keep disconnecting and switching.  Xfinity swapping out your modem was not enough, you have to ask them to unbridge to two bands to make two different networks.  If you were tech savvy/confident at all, you can do it yourself.
