I'd like to suggest a feature that could solve a common frustration with Samsung Smart TVs: audio delay when using external Bluetooth speakers.

The idea: Automatic A/V Sync Calibration Using the TV Remote's Microphone

The process would be simple:

  1. The user selects "Auto Audio Sync Calibration" in the TV settings.

  2. The TV plays a short, predefined test audio pattern through the connected Bluetooth speakers.

  3. The microphone in the Samsung Smart Remote records the sound actually coming from the speakers.

  4. The TV compares the recorded audio with the original test signal to measure the actual audio delay.

  5. After accounting for the TV's video processing time, the TV automatically adjusts the video output timing to synchronize the picture with the sound.

  6. Users can repeat the calibration whenever they change speakers or notice synchronization issues.

Why this could be useful:

  • Works with existing Bluetooth speakers, without requiring special low-latency audio codecs.

  • Uses hardware already available in many Samsung Smart Remotes.

  • Could eliminate the need to purchase an expensive soundbar simply to avoid audio synchronization problems.

  • Particularly useful for IPTV, YouTube, Netflix, and other streaming content.

  • Game Mode could bypass the additional video delay to preserve responsiveness.

The main technical requirements would be accurate microphone timing and support for adjustable video output delay.

The underlying concept is straightforward: rather than trying to make Bluetooth audio transmission faster, measure its actual delay and synchronize the video accordingly.

I'm sharing this idea freely in the hope that Samsung or another manufacturer might implement it someday. I'd simply be happy to see it become a useful feature for everyone.

Thank you for considering this suggestion!
