We have noticed over the last couple of years that there is a "crust" around the edges of the control panel.  It looks like lime buildup that you would see around a faucet or shower head.  It appears at all of the horizontal "seams" on the front of the washer.  What might be causing this?

Hi there, I can certainly see the concern with this leaking around your control panel. To start, I recommend following the steps in the link below. It has detailed information on what to do if the washer is leaking. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01000977/

Once these steps are completed, if the washer is still leaking, it will require service. There’s a couple options here we can take based on your warranty status.

    1. You can utilize this link to locate an authorized service center in your area to obtain estimates for repairs: http://www.Samsung.com/us/support/service/location or reach out to any local repair shop.
    2. The other option, would be a replacement of the unit. Samsung.com offers amazing deals on different models that may be to your liking, check out those deals here: https://www.samsung.com/us/washers/

Are you handy? If so you could pick up a new rubber piece that goes all the way around. A seal issue seems the most obvious. If you have signed up for the repair program through gas company or the electricity company they will fix it for free. If you only had a 1 year warranty and not signed up for repairing appliances..... I would suggest first signing up and waiting until the washer and dryer are added to that. Secondly, try purchasing the rubber seal piece. Third..... YouTube can give you a ton of advice and costs cheaper then hiring a pumbling person to do it.
