Please help. Only had this washer for about 5 weeks. Flexwash 2 in 1 combo. Will only power on from top washer. No response lower washer. When top wash turns on error 14 appears, both top and bottom washer screens turn on, then error 18:8J blinks along with the delay end button, self clean button, and smart connect button. The child lock icon in bottom display blinks, add garmet and self clean in top display blink. Tried unplugging, tried turning off child lock, it is not responsive to anything other than the top washer power button.

So great news!!! Samsung care came out to service the washer today, they were so knowledgeable and pleasant! Although they have never heard of 18:8j the power button not being responsive told them it is the control board. Took just a few minutes to swap out and magic it’s fixed!! Highly recommend everyone get a warranty on their appliances they say it’s very common for the control boards to go bad. But it was a quick and easy fix.

@user0mOTfGKfyh Was the washer professionally installed? Have you contacted your retailer for any assistance since it is so new?

Yes lowe’s Delivered and installed. We contacted Samsung they have a tech coming out tomorrow. But I’m a little worried, people with the same problem say it’s hard to find a solution and getting replacement appliance takes awhile.

I have the exact same codes on my washer, and I have had it a few months now.  Did you find a solution?

I just encountered this same problem this past weekend. Lower washer is unresponsive. Top washer turns one and displays the error code 18:8J. So I did some research and this seems to be a common problem.

Where do I find the correct parts? Is it the front or rear panel? or both?

I have the fleswasher in white.

      Here are Model#

      And Serial #

      WV55M9600AW/A5

      <hidden>

I'm seeing in parts often an 00, 01,or 02 following the model number. I'm not seeing that.

I'm an an industrial maintenance electrian, I'm pretty sure I can repair the washer as long as I can find the correct part(s).

I'm looking for help identifying the correct replacement parts.

This washer and dryer combination were bought just over 2 years ago from Home depot as a black Friday Christmas gift to self.

Were you able to find a solution? I am having your exact same problem I thought it was likely a board but which one?

This is something that would require service.  If you send us a private message with your model and serial number and we would be happy to look into service options.  http://bit.ly/2ihPL97

I'm glad I foud this thread.  My new samsung washer is flashing the same code. 18:8J.  Bottom washer will not power on.  The top one will power on but flashes 18:8J on the display screen for the bottom washer.  Trying to clarify...was the fix a control board under the display panel or the 2 control boards behind the washer?

I have exatcly the same problem on my 11-month old Samsung Flexwash WV55M9600AW.  18:8J blinks along with delay end button, self clean button and smart connect button.  Called Samsung Customer Service today and scheduled my service appointment for next Wednesday. Now, I am keeping my finger crossed with the hope this problem can be fixed. I will provide a follow up update and let you folks about the outcome of the Samsung's service.

The  warranty on my washer just expired a few weeks ago and I’m now getting the same failure.  Anyone know the part number for the control board?  I really can’t justify $800 to repair, so may attempt to do it myself.

I'm yet another unsatisfied customer with the 18:8J problem.  It seems like there might be a bigger issue going on if so many of these boards are going out.  After spending so much money on these appliances, you expect the parts, especially the electronics, to last.  Boards going out after 2 months to 2 years is crazy!  WIth so many people having the issue, it must be a manufacturing issue!  Samsung, will you please stand by your products and help us out?

Thank you Tam. One more question, based on the previous answers of other customers, seems the issue is related to the control panel board malfuntion. And due to the covid situation, I'm wondering if it is possible for sumsung to ship me a new panel board and I can do the replacement by myself? Asking service personal come to my home feel kind of risky during this period of time.

I definitely understand your concerns. The safety and health of our customers and service partners is our top priority. With me not being there to diagnose the unit, regretfully, I wouldn’t be able to provide an exact diagnosis on the cause of any symptoms. As far as sending you the part directly, I apologize but we would be unable to accommodate your request. I would recommend reaching out to the service center when you are ready to proceed with the service. You can also purchase a service manual from our part distributor, J & J Parts, at 800-627-4368 or visiting http://samsungparts.com.

I agree. We have had our washer less than 2 years, and we now have this error. This is ridiculous! There should definitely be a recall or class action suit. It's so unfair to the customers for Samsung to overlook this.

Even we are having the same issue, had twice within two years. Worst product to buy. Would never buy samsung products anymore and will share the same to my relatives & friends.

I have been calling customer care for several days, but the service center guys never replied.
