After 20 loads of wash and not seeing a refill message I got suspicious.
It seems the detergent auto-dispenser drawer is never empty because it is filling with water. Has anyone else had this problem?
Model is WF90F53ADSA5

Hey epic007, thank you for reaching out to the Community. I understand that you are having issues with the auto dispenser.
There a few things that you can try to fix the issue.
1. Cleaning the dispenser regularly is recommended to remove soap build-up. The drawer, and nozzle can be cleaned with warm water.
2. You can also inspect the input/output valves for clogs.
3. Make sure the detergent type/concentration settings match what is in the drawer.
4. You can also run a self clean cycle.
If none of these resolve the issue you may want to consider having the unit serviced. You can contact 1-800-726-7864 or use the link https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/locations/.

Detergent dispensers fill with water to push the detergent out into the wash cycle, but should not remain in the dispenser. If your dispenser is not draining of water, this could be an issue or a clog. First check the input and output valves to make sure they are not blocked. If they are not blocked, there could be a different issue and you may have to call support to see if it needs service or there is something else you need to do. You can first see if there's anything in the user manual about troubleshooting this issue.

Thanks for your response. This is an auto-dispense unit. It pumps detergent from a sealed container. I would think it should not fill up with water as that would dilute the remaining detergent. I was just wondering anyone else has seen this problem and how they fixed it.

It would not dilute the remaining detergent, the dispensers are made with a one way valve. It may pump the detergent from a sealed container, but it pumps it into the dispenser which, in turn, gets a water flow to push the gooey liquid detergent out and keep the dispenser clean. Sometimes the outflow duct gets clogged with congealed detergent. You can take a cotton swap and unclog it or run hot water through it to try to dissolve it. You user manual or a call to Samsung service should be able to give you more troubleshooting information.

yes our brand new washer is doing this too. Even got a replacement dispenser and same thing. I am manually adding soap when I wanted auto dispense.

The machine is brand new. The blue sealed container is where I found the water (no detergent left) #1 auto-dispenser. I popped the blue cover off and it was full of plain water.

Good afternoon @epic007 and welcome to the community! I can understand how frustrating that is and am happy to assist you! For the combo washers/dryers, they can do around 25 loads of laundry with detergent and fabric softener; around 75 loads if just using regular detergent. However, the drawer should not be filling with water and staying like that. That is indicative of the unit being unbalanced. You can check out the following like to try the troubleshooting steps: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshoot/TSG10003485/
Please let me know if these steps work out for you 🙂

I ended up running a pump clean on the drawer. I have been checking it after each wash and it seems better. Liquid is nice and thick. Not noticing it filling with water. I also pop the drawer after each wash. I will update this thread if it changes.

I checked today after washing and it was full of water again. Without the auto-dispense feature working properly, the AI won't work and the unit is nothing more than an over-priced base model.
Sadly I won't expect Samsung will do anything about it, since I wasn't able to get them to come out and look at the noisy dryer. These things are only 2 months old and if I bought them locally I would return them!

First, make sure the blue lids are snapped on tightly. They should fit snug, and removing them should take a little effort. Check both sides.
Second, verify that the fill caps are fully closed. On mine, after several wash cycles, I noticed the caps would almost work themselves loose. My guess is a mix of water pressure and basic physics doing their thing.
The dispenser is designed to open from the back when the solenoid pushes open the largest of the three holes, then close once the correct amount is metered. If that valve is staying open too long and allowing water to enter, it would explain the detergent and water mixing.
In my case, the detergent and softener leaked out of the two smaller holes because the gaskets had fallen off. That also allowed water to enter the dispenser. I found two of the gaskets in the filter, but I’m still missing the other two. They’re supposed to fit over the pins on the back of the dispenser unit. If you aren't using the solids cups, remove them. See if that helps.

Looks like a poor design. I have quarter turn valves, I turned them down by half. I ran the rinse and spin cycle and water is still getting in the tray. I think it is coming through the side. The blue cover doesn't make a good seal. I can still press on it and it moves up and down over the tray. I spent hours with support and got no where so I created a service ticket. They will have to come out here instead of just sending me a cover or new tray.
