My brand galaxy 9 watch doesn't seem to be recording sleep properly. I am sure that I'm going to sleep between 11 and 12, but watch is recording that I don't fall asleep until around 3 in the morning. It is showing in the latency sleep the correct time that I go to bed. I know that I don't lay there awake for 3 or 4 hours. Why the big discrepancy?

Are you putting your watch in sleep mode so that the screen isn't affected by movement? If the screen keeps activating, especially if you have lift to wake on, the watch may believe you are awake. Is your watch too loose? Also, check your heart rate stats. I could be that you heart beat is not going low enough to register as a sleep state, and 3 a.m. may be when it dips low enough.

Do you have your watch set to measure HR continuously? If you do, you will get an idea of your HR throughout the day even during the hours you are supposed to be sleeping. However, even setting it to measure every 10 minutes should give you a clear idea of your daytime HR. If that number remains more or less constant, even during the night hours, you can assume your HR is not going low enough to register as sleep, since HR is one of the measurements that indicate which state of sleep you may be in. I don't believe the sleep tracking is consistently accurate anyway, but it still gives me enough detail. Can you provide a screen shot of your sleep graph and your HR graph?

Maybe your average night HR is high and that's why it doesn't think you are sleeping. Have you ever had a sleep study done? Do you sleep flat or do you have an adjustable bed and sleep at an incline? I normally sleep on an incline, but I notice that when I travel and have to sleep on a flat bed, my sleep tracking is off by a lot - and I know I have actually slept.
