Not a happy camper at all. Was an Apple fanboi for over 20 years, and just over a year ago decided I really liked the Z Fold 7, so bought one outright from someone who had it a few days and couldn't get used to it. Have been happy with it ever since, with no regrets. UNTIL...

Phone received the OneUI 9 update a few days ago which I did with no problems. Then 2 days ago I was notified to reboot to install update again, which I assume was the security patch. Did that successfully.

And then I discovered I had no network. My main sim is an eSim, my secondary is a physical sim from another provider. Neither would connect. As in nothing. Emergency calls only.

Before anyone starts throwing out suggestions, I have done EVERYTHING. Reboot. Safe Mode. Reset Network settings. Change to 4G and 3G. Disable and enable sim cards. Airplane mode. Reset sim and apn settings. Checked with my mobile providers, changed sim cards, etc etc etc.

Note that in my case, wifi works fine. It is cellular service that isn't working.

I get error messages such as eSim not allowed and error when scanning for providers. The eSim service is severely broken.

Even if I turn off the eSim and add 2 sim cards, neither gets service.

What I have discovered is that if I turn off the eSim, and only use ONE physical sim, I get service from my secondary provider. But as soon as I enable the eSim, it kills the other sim even if that is set as secondary. And 2 physical sims kills both.

My next step is to go to my provider and ask for a new eSim, and delete the old one. But suspect that isn't going to help. Something in the software has killed that eSim slot.

And worst of all, when I called Samsung, I was told if I take it in for warranty, they are not going to cover it unless I have the original invoice. Like wtf? The device was registered to me on the Samsung site the day I got it, and the phone hasn't even been out long enough to be out of warranty. So why are you trying to weasel your way out of a genuine warranty issue that YOU CAUSED with a faulty update?

That is a fight we will have when I go there. I am not accepting the fact that they won't stand behind a product that they killed.

Most people with (the escalating reported) issues have problems with wifi. Mine is fine, it is cellular service that is broken. Which means when I am away from wifi I have no phone, no-one can call me or even Whatsapp me since there is no way to access data.

Anyone had a similar experience?

I will be trying to service next week and I expect a big fight that I will not give up on. This was a considerable expense for me, and if I had known they would look for ways to get out of warranty, I would not have gone to Samsung. When the phone works, I love it. WHEN it works.
