Panorama Viewer

Capturing breathtaking landscapes in panoramic photos is a wonderful way to preserve expansive views. However, viewing these wide-angle shots on a smartphone's small screen sometimes falls short of recreating the immersive experience of being there. With the upgraded Panorama Viewer we're transforming how you enjoy panoramic photos, bringing you closer to the scene as if you were standing right there.

How to Use Panorama Viewer

Capture Your Panorama

    • Open the Camera app > Navigate to More > Select Panorama and take your shot.

View Panorama

    • Open the Gallery > Select your panoramic photo > Tap View panorama and swipe left/right to explore

How Panorama View Works

When capturing panoramas with a smartphone, the shooting method can cause distortions like cylindrical or perspective distortion. This flattens wide landscapes into a single frame, losing some of their natural beauty.

[Result of a wide landscape being flattened by panorama capture]

Panorama Viewer addresses this by reconstructing the panorama into a semi-cylindrical form, reducing distortion and restoring the scene closer to how it appeared during capture.

This allows you to view the photograph with distortion reduced to a level nearly identical to that experienced when the photograph was taken.

Enhanced Usage Experience

When you select a panoramic photo in the Gallery, a View panorama button appears. Tapping it launches the Panorama Viewer.

There you can:

  • Move your device left/right, mimicking the motion of taking the panorama.
  • Swipe left/right on the screen for a seamless viewing experience.

Landscapes are meant to be experienced fully, not just seen. While capturing panoramas is essential, we believe that viewing them with greater immersion adds a meaningful layer to your memories. That's why we developed Panorama Viewer - to help you relive those moments with the same awe and wonder you felt when taking the shot.

With this feature, you can also revisit panoramas taken on previous models, enhancing your experience across devices.

※ Supported Models: Galaxy S22/S23/S24/S25 series, Galaxy S23 FE/S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 4/5/6, Galaxy Z Flip 4/5/6, Galaxy Tab S8/S9/S10 series.

Great advice. One needs some skill to get one. Mine end up looking warped. The best one I ever took was on the Note 20 Ultra. I prefer to use the ultrawide lense to take a wide framed picture, panorama pictures are just not my cup of tea for some reason.

Lovely and informative post. For me the trick is not to take too wide a photo even in the panoramic view.
Although sometimes you do want to go crazy 😊.

S24 ultra. I can take a panorama and viewing it does show the View panorama button. However if I remaster the image the button no longer shows. Possibly different XMP data I suppose. Also, remastering changes the x,y dimensions of the image. Wishing I could take vertical-rama pictures too.
