My s25 ultra refuses to update. I've done a lot of trouble shooting and nothing has worked so far. When I try to go to the software update section in settings, it immediately kicks me out without even opening. I can't even view my update history. Please help.

I've pretty much tried all of the things in the other reply.

I've tried clearing up some storage, making sure my wifi is good and my battery is high enough, performing a hard reset as well as the safe mode, and I've tried using a computer for the smart switch thing.

The only thing is, I believe there was an error in the smart switch process, and I'm not sure if it was caused by the issue I'm having, or if it was something seperate.

      Hi
      Try Beliw

Your Samsung phone likely stopped or kicked you out of the update due to low storage, an unstable internet connection, or a paused background process. [1, 2]

      Quick Fixes to Try First

Check storage: Go to Settings > Device Care > Storage to free up space. Updates often fail or abort if internal space is too low.

Stable Wi-Fi: Ensure you are connected to a strong Wi-Fi network and your battery is above 50%.

Restart: Perform a hard restart by holding the Power button and Volume down key for more than 7 seconds until the phone reboots. [1, 2, 3]

      Advanced Solutions

Use Safe Mode: Restart into Safe Mode by holding the Volume down and Side keys, then try running the update again to block third-party app interference. [1]

Use a Computer: Download Smart Switch on your PC or Mac, connect your phone via USB cable, and run the update directly from your computer.

I have tried all of these things in my trouble shooting process and so far, unfortunately, none of them have worked.

Method 1: The Smart Switch Desktop Trick (Easiest)

This is the safest and most reliable way to force a US Samsung phone to update while in the UK. Desktop software bypasses your local UK mobile network and pulls the update directly from Samsung's global servers based on your phone's exact model number.

Download and install Samsung Smart Switch for PC or Mac on your computer.Open the Smart Switch application.Connect your US Samsung phone to your computer using a high-quality USB cable.Unlock your phone screen and allow access to device data if prompted. If an update is available for your specific US model, Smart Switch will display a large notification next to your phone's details saying "Update available".Click Update and leave the phone completely alone until it finishes restarting.

Method 2: The VPN + Network Reset (For Factory-Unlocked Models)

If your phone is a factory-unlocked US model (Model numbers usually end in U1), it should eventually update on Wi-Fi, but your UK SIM might be blocking it.

Turn on Airplane Mode and turn off your phone.Remove your UK SIM card from the tray.Turn the phone back on and connect only to Wi-Fi.Open a VPN app and connect to a United States server.Clear the storage cache of your update services:Go to Settings > Apps > tap the small "Filter and sort" icon next to Your Apps and toggle on Show system apps.Search for Software Update (you may see two listings). Select them, go to Storage, and tap Clear Cache.Go back to Settings > Software update > Download and install to trigger the update over the US VPN network.

No, I don't believe I've tried the diagnostics via Samsung members app. I will though, thank you.

      Are you in the UK?

Your device is locked to Verizon Wireless in the US so out of region and won't update if you are in the UK.
