Just got a SmartTag2 but can't get it to connect to my phone. I've tried resetting the tag, I'm running the latest version of smart things, I've got a stable Internet connection but keep getting error code 84-002 "temporary server error". It's been almost 24hrs of trying on/of. Any ideas what else I can try?

Thanks!

So, as a last-ditch attempt, I uninstalled and reinstalled the smart things app and it seems to have worked. I guess whatever bug it had cleared when reinstalling. Give it a go, and I hope it works for you too 🤞

I have 4 smart tags 2. As soon as I pulled the blue battery tag out of thr smart tag, I got a notification on my phone to complete the connection and update the smart tag software.

I suggest contacting samsung as you might have a faulty one.

I'm having the same issue. Got 4 Smarttag2 that got delivered today. Tested 2 and neither connects.
Probably the Samsung server itself that is down.

I tried again (for 2nd time) to uninstall and then reinstall. This time, I started Smart Things App and tried to give full permissions before connect. I went to all options and made sure, it has every thing enabled. Then, I rested my Smart Tag 2 and connected it. I worked! Issue is resolved ,  Thanks Bki_ac

Hello, I recently just went through this problem when attempting to pair my SmartTags 2 devices, and I found a solution, that I assume will work for you.

For some reason, you need to first create a "room" in the SmartThings app. I didn't document the process step by step when I was doing it, but basically open the SmartThings app, and then manage your "home" and add a room. I simply just called the room "SmartTags". Once you finally create that room, try the pairing process again.

Yep this worked for me, switched all permissions on set up a room and it connected straight away, thank you.

Thank you soooo much. I've been trying for over  a week, and the helpline has been useless!

Hello, I had exactly the same issue and it solved like you suggested. To add a room in SmartThings is not that intuitive, but I could it by doing the following:

To add a room, open the SmartThings app, and tap ¨Devices¨. 2 Tap drop-down menu select ¨Manage rooms¨. 3 Tap Add (+ icon), and then select a new location. 4 Choose a name for the room, and then tap ¨Next¨. Select a wallpaper for the room, and then tap ¨Save¨. You can tap ¨Change wallpaper¨ to make a different choice. 5 Once it’s saved, the room will appear under its assigned location. You can find it by navigating to the location, and then tapping the room. From here, you can add devices to the room and make other changes by tapping + Add device.
