Just upgraded to the Galaxy s25 ultra, and i wish I never upgraded.
There is hardly any benefit to upgrading in the first place, my last phone was the s23 and I was perfectly happy with it. I only upgraded because my screen cracked, and they didn't have my model available, so they upgraded me.
Now I'm finding out that to save money and to make room for all the new AI ***** I didn't want, they took away the main feature I like about my stylus, and that is the Bluetooth from the S Pen. Meaning that I can use my stylus as a remote to take pictures from a distance, and also to control the screen.
Maybe other people dont use this feature, but I do. Taking it away, for me, means that I not only have no benefit for upgrading, but now I am also regretting it, because I miss out on features I love.

I agree, my only complaint with my old S Pen was that, after some time, it wouldn't stay in the phone as well. If I dropped or banged my phone around, my S Pen would slide out. I know 2 people who had the same phone longer than i had, and they both lost their S pen that way.
When I got the nee phone I was hoping the new material was to help keep the S Pen inside the phone better.
That has not been the case. In fact, I'd almost say it slips out the phone MORE often, than the old one.
All in all, Samsung definitely dropped the ball on the S Pen, and I am definitely regretting giving up my S23 ultra. Absolutely lived that phone, hate the "upgrade".

There are other ways to take a photo. Use you voice, palm capture etc
If you use a Samsung smartwatch
You can preview the photo on the watch screen before you capture. I find this very handy now.
Does involved another step and for astro photos on my telescope it was easier with the S Pen
To be honest now I have adapted and not something I miss now.

@ThugBug109 Welcome to the Samsung Community :)As mentioned there are workarounds for a Remote shutter, even if you find it valuable the S Pen Bluetooth functionality is hardly the biggest factor for a Smartphone. Do you not find any noticeable improvements in other areas such as the camera, speed/efficiency. Different views on AI but you may find it beneficial for ediiting.

The SPen is still useful because you can still use it for drawing, handwriting and editing and some air actions.
🖊️ Key S Pen Functions for S25 Ultra 1. Galaxy AI Integration (New & Enhanced)
The S25 Ultra leans heavily into AI-assisted creativity:
Drawing Assist (Sketch to Image): You can scribble a rough sketch on a photo or a blank note, and the AI will transform it into a professional-looking piece of art or a realistic object. AI Select: Allows you to circle or select objects on your screen to instantly generate GIFs, remove backgrounds, or search for information. Circle to Search: Use the S Pen to circle anything on your screen (videos, social media, etc.) to trigger a Google search without leaving the app. 2. Traditional Productivity Screen Off Memo: Pull out the pen while the screen is off to start writing instantly. S Pen to Text: Write directly into search bars or message fields; your handwriting is automatically converted to digital text. Smart Select: Capture specific parts of the screen, extract text from images, or pin screenshots to the display. Screen Write: Take a full-page screenshot and immediately begin annotating or highlighting. 3. Navigation & Utilities Air View: Hover the S Pen over the screen to preview calendar events, emails, or gallery photos without actually clicking them. Magnify: Use the pen as a magnifying glass for small text or fine details in images. Translate: Hover over a word or sentence to see an instant translation in your preferred language. 😊
