Everything about this phones keyboard and voice text sucks so much worse than iphone. The voice text is literally TERRIBLE on both g board and samsung keyboard. Genuinely, the worst I've ever experienced. It's so bad and so infuriating I want to go back to apple. It's constantly autocapitalizing things that are in the middle of a sentence that has legitimately no reason to be capitalized, and makes no sense OR it puts the most random nonsensical words where they are not supposed to be. It's like it doesn't even listen to what your actually saying and fills in the blanks with random words. Currently as I voice type this, I am having to make so many changes because it is automatically putting in random punctuation and randomly capitalizing and no amount of messing with the settings fixes this issue. I'm about to go straight back to an iPhone. Who in the world are your software engineers because seriously, what gives? Years of the same issues with no fix. Are you that inept of a company? The reason I voice text so much you ask? Why don't I just type with the physical screen and not be lazy? Well, I can answer that for you! There's legitimately the most amount of spelling errors and hitting the wrong wrong numbers and letters on this keyboard. There's no typing quickly or efficiently on this phone, I either voice text and spend five minutes fixing every single text, or I type it out and I spend five minutes fixing every single text. This small complaint, this short paragraph took me over 20 minutes to type and proofread and fix because of how horrific samsung keyboard is. It's 2025 this is genuinely mind-blowing, do better.
We have a samsung TV, 2 samsung phones and a samsung tablet that we are about to get rid of and switch for a different brand and never pay for samsung again. I'm still using my old macbook and was going to switch to a samsung computer but now after experiencing the issues with the phone? I don't believe that will be happening. Y'all should be humiliated that your consumers and customers are in chat rooms on reddit by the thousands trying to fix these problems. Some of the threads have people going back as far as three years to people commenting as recently as two days ago in the same thread, because it's been the same issues for this long. I wanted to get the z flip and now I never want to pay for a samsung device again.
Also, last thing, DON'T YOU DARE tell me that in the settings that you can turn off auto capitalization and autopunctuation because it's the same problem just opposite. I have been trying to look for the solution to this problem since I bought this phone a year ago and both my husband and I made the mistake of switching from iphone to samsung. We both want to go back. Go look at some reddit boards and make some changes for your customers before they go back to iphone, iphone may be boring but at least their systems are more user friendly and work.
That's how bad this problem is, aside from this I absolutely love this phone but the struggle of typing and texting when that's probably 75% of what I use the phone for makes me not want it all. Quite literally, the only thing that could make this phone better is if we had the option for iphone keyboard still because let me tell you something they know what they are doing with that keyboard it works phenomenally well, especially when compared to the travesty that is the samsung and g board keyboards.

You have the option of swapping between samsung and google for voice processing.
You're probably just using the default on default settings, not liking it, then thinking everything acts the same.
You can even download other voice processing services. The keyboard doesn't handle that itself.

Listen I understand what you're getting at but I've been trying to fix this for such a long time and I have searched and tried more than I could even begin to explain. This is the only phone I've had an issue with and I am far from the only person. Unfortunately if all you believe is it's all my problem and you have nothing else to add then you're not here to help me.

I myself don't usually use voice to text but I have messed with it a bit.
For tweaks, in the settings for the google voice to text, make sure you have the correct language pack installed. It might be defaulting to american or using the internet instead of on device. Also make sure primary language is specifically english uk. (Assuming you're in the uk, this is the uk side of the forum).
For the samsung one it's sorta similar, make sure it's set for the correct version of english and you have the language pack downloaded and updated.

So you tried using Google's voice to text instead? That's what the overwhelming majority of users with the same issue have done. Im sure you saw it in the reddit posts and other links. I understand & agree that Samsung needs to fix the problem with their voice to text, but you at least have a decent alternative that works well. I agree that apple's voice to text is currently the gold standard (i use an iPad for work), but that's really the only metric where apple wins. Samsung is miles ahead of Apple on every other category and Apple is just trying to keep up it seems. Just a couple years ago they introduced "moving apps on the home screen" and all of android couldn't stop laughing since we've had that for 20 yrs. No foldable phone yet. Samsung just released a tri-fold and hinted at a transparent tablet. And what is Apple offering for a TV right now? Oh ya, a streaming box.
I understand your frustration but to completely replace your tvs, tablets, phones, etc. is a lot of money when Google offers a perfectly suitable voice to text option. Im just saying, maybe try that first before replacing your devices with tech that's only better in one catageory.

The main issue here is with voice typing and the keyboard itself: random capitalization, wrong words, unnecessary punctuation, and too many typos when typing manually. This isn't really your fault-it's how Samsung Keyboard and Gboard handle voice dictation, and many users have been complaining about this for years. Apple's dictation works better because it's integrated on a system level, while Google and Samsung rely on online services that just aren't as precise.
Here's what you can try right now:
1. Install Microsoft SwiftKey - many people switching from iPhone say it feels closer to iOS and has fewer errors.
2. For voice typing, instead of the built-in option, try Google Assistant dictation or apps like Speechnotes or Otter.ai. They are far more accurate, and you can just copy the text into your messages.
3.Adjust settings: in Samsung Keyboard or Gboard, turn off everything except basic autocorrect. That reduces the random capitalization and punctuation.
4.If you really want the iPhone feel, there are iOS-style keyboard ports for Android online (not official, but some people use them for the Apple-like layout).
To sum up: Samsung and Google haven't perfected this feature yet, but you can get much closer to the iPhone experience with SwiftKey + Speechnotes. If that still doesn't satisfy you, then honestly, Apple still has the best dictation and keyboard system overall.
