Hello everyone,

I’m very interested in Project Moohan and I’d like to suggest a feature that could greatly improve accessibility for users with low vision, especially those with retinal conditions such as retinitis pigmentosa (my case).

Currently, most VR/MR headsets keep passthrough frame rate fixed at high values (e.g., 90 fps) to ensure fluidity. However, in low-light conditions this means shorter exposure times per frame, resulting in a darker image that can be difficult to navigate with.

My proposal:

Allow manual control of passthrough frame rate (e.g., 90 / 60 / 30 fps)

Or implement an automatic adjustment based on ambient brightness

Benefits:

Lower fps increases per-frame exposure time, significantly improving brightness in dim environments.

This would make the headset safer and more usable for low-light navigation (e.g., residential streets, indoor corridors, dimly lit rooms).

It could expand the user base by making Project Moohan more accessible to people with visual impairments.
