I would really like to be able to recreate the Magnifier 1x1 widget (see image), rather than the messy 2x1 version we've had for the past few Android versions.

Thanks for the suggestion — a compact 1x1 Magnifier widget would definitely feel more useful and cleaner compared to the current larger layout.
I’ll pass this feedback along to the developers for consideration 😊.

Yes please! I spent quite sone time to discover why my 1x1 widget disappeared to finally discover that it became 2x1. I had it permanently at the bottom of the home pages where space is very limited (max 5 app). So I can no longer have it handy. When the developers will become old, they will understand why it is so good to have it easily accessible from anywhere !
I even suggest some quick access, double or triple click a physical button (double-click the power button is very handy for quick access to the camera, do something similar)
