Hello Samsung Community, I am using a Samsung Galaxy A12 and I am having problems with phone calls. I cannot use VoLTE/4G calling, and I am unable to make or receive any calls. Mobile data is working, but calls do not go through and I cannot receive incoming calls. I have checked my settings, but the problem is still there. Could you please help me understand what might be causing this issue and how I can fix it? Thank you in advance for your help.

The A12 if memory serves me right stopped getting updates early 2025. It's quite possible that it may affect the phones functionality.

      Thank you for your reply.
If the lack of updates can affect calling functionality, could you please clarify if this means VoLTE or normal calls may stop working completely on the Galaxy A12?
The phone still powers on and mobile data works, but I cannot make or receive calls at all. Is this a known issue related to updates ending, or could it be related to network compatibility or carrier settings?
      Any guidance would be appreciated.
      Thank you.

Basic functions of the phone will work and even though the A12 is 4g the lack of updates can pose a security risk and affect the phone significantly (I'm not stating facts but just spitballing here). It is possible that the phone will be affected to tge point it will stop working.

To sum it up your phone is old and it might be time to get a new one.

If you live in sweden where 2G/3G has been shutdown recently. Phones that cannot do 112 calls will become blocked even if they have 4G support. It's mostly due to 112 calls is being done over 2G/3G so you will need to buy a new
samsung phone that has 5G support.

Only phones with proper 4G that can do 112 calls over 4G will still work as normal and ofocurse 5G.

Incorrect, volte has nothing todo with this. Even if phone has VoLTE it still depends on 112, some 4G phones that has VoLTE is also blocked because 112 no is being connected over 2G/3G rather than 4G.

It's because the lack of volte 4G isn't working

Not really, since i tested with a phone that had volte and yet it couldn't take calls or do calls anyway. Cause of it was because 112 couldn't be done over 4G no matter if it had VoLTE or not. It still tried to dial over 2G/3G on 112. Which is why some 4G phones are blocked.

      Try trubble shooting.
Airplane mode: Settings → Connections → make sure Airplane mode is OFF.
Do not disturb & call blocking: turn off Do not disturb and check the Phone app → three dots → Settings → make sure there is no call barring or call blocking enabled and that “all outgoing” / “all incoming” calls are not barred.
Call forwarding/diverts: In Phone app → Settings → Supplementary services → Call forwarding → Voice call → disable any active diverts, especially “divert all calls”. Source Samsung support. I have been advised to tell you to escalate this matter to Samsung support. Best regards AndroidSweden
