Took two seconds to google it 😆😂
To change the Eco mode or switch to another picture mode on your Samsung Odyssey G5, press the physical joystick button under the center of the screen, push it forward to open the main Menu, go to Picture, select Picture Mode, and change it from Eco to Custom or Game Standard 😆

Not really. I'm saying it takes less time and is generally quicker. Now if you're a illiterate pelican that's on you

Feels like (i take it you've checked that all cables are secure) that a factory reset would be the way to go

There are two primary approaches to acquiring knowledge: either refraining from posing inquiries or embracing the provided responses. 😂

This behavior is a known issue on Samsung Odyssey G5 monitors caused by Eco Saving Plus overriding firmware logic or conflicting with DisplayPort/HDMI Power Saving / Auto Source Detection settings. When you attempt to change modes, the monitor attempts a display mode handshake, fails, crashes, and resets back to the Eco default.

Work through these steps in exact order to fix the freeze-and-reset loop:

      Disable Eco Saving Plus Correctly
      Disconnect display cables first
Unplug your DisplayPort / HDMI cable from the back of the monitor so it only shows the "No Signal" screen or standalone menu.
      2
Disable Power Saving & Source Auto Switch
While still in the standalone monitor menu:
      3
Check Refresh Rate & Color Bit Depth in Windows
High refresh rates combined with 10-bit color can trigger the internal display scaler to crash when switching picture modes.
      4
Perform a Full Hardware Drain (Hard Reset)
If the monitor is stuck in a bad EEPROM state, clear its power cashe.

      Best regards AndroidSweden
