My S22 Ultra back camera suddenly stopped working while taking photos. I didn't drop it or anything. I'd like to wait for S27 before buying a new mobile phone, and it's too old to repair it. All other cameras work, also the Pro, but the photos are too dark and too complicating to cedit settings for every photo. Just the usual back camera isn't working anymore.

Any tips on how to repair it?

This may be a hardware-related issue. We recommend consulting a third-party service provider, such as iFixit or a similar repair specialist phonehero, to address the camera failure. Unfortunately, My current shop Mobile+46 inventory is limited to a single unit; however, these providers typically maintain a more extensive stock to support your needs. Best regards AndroidSweden

Thanks. I went to a repair shop, but they said it would cost a lot with no promises. So I could leave for them to take a look, but as the phone is 4YO, I could expect new issues. As I can't even read a QR code, I gave up. And guess what: when I wanted to buy a new one, the price got up with 2000 SEK! Just overnight! I guess it's because they can now can go down 2000 SEK on Black Friday... Oh well.

To fix a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra back camera that suddenly stopped working, start by clearing the camera app's cache and data through your phone's settings. [1]

      Troubleshooting Steps

Clear Cache and Data: Go to Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage, then tap Clear Cache and Clear Data. Restart your phone afterward.

I've tried all these apart from factory reset. Still nothing...

So you have to do Factory Reset 2/3 times. This one the last option for us, if not working then go for the Samsung help center.

A camera and work is about 1500Sek by a legit dealership. It's not hard changing it. 🤣🤣

I might still do it so that I have a spare phone for when I travel. Thanks.

Try restarting the phone and testing the camera in Safe mode to check whether a third-party app is causing the issue. You can also clear the Camera app’s cache under Settings and check for any pending software updates. If the rear camera still won’t open or shows a black screen, it could be a hardware issue, so getting it checked by Samsung support would be a good next step.
