samsung one ui multi task

I really love the new full screen gestures on my s9plus. But i have problem with multi tasking with it. The navigation buttons allows us to split screen just by holding the nav button. But in gestures, i need to swipe up then press on the icon then select split screen. Does anyone know how to split screen without going to the recent apps by gestures?
