Hello, Is there a safe way to eject a sim card without having to power off the phone?

I think it's safe to eject a SIM card while ur phone's powered on (aka "hot-swapping"). I already tried this to 1 of my phones (with a SIM tray), and it still works fine after hot-swapping SIMs. Although my recommendation is to halt cellular activity (like calls, msgs, and data usage) b4 ejection.
