For long-term unit users, I understand this will be of great use. But I replace my unit every 2 to 3 years during recontracting, and then my old unit gets handed down to someone in the family. Plus, I've always had healthy batteries (because of my settings and usage), so this will have minimal effect on me but I agree, it's a great feature to have.
