After updating my Galaxy F06 5G from One UI 7 to One UI 8.5, I have been experiencing several issues with Secure Folder that have significantly affected my user experience.
1. Secure Folder apps no longer lock immediately Previously, on One UI 7, whenever I opened an app inside Secure Folder and left it in the Recent Apps screen, it would lock instantly after I exited it. This behavior effectively worked as an app lock, which was very useful since Samsung does not provide a separate App Lock feature.
However, after updating to One UI 8.5, Secure Folder apps remain accessible until I manually lock the entire phone. This completely defeats the purpose of using Secure Folder as a secure app-lock solution. Was this feature intentionally removed, or is it a bug?
2. Green camera privacy indicator appears unexpectedly Another serious issue is that whenever I open any app inside Secure Folder, the green camera privacy indicator (green dot) appears in the status bar, even though the app is not using the camera. I searched online and tried clearing the Secure Folder cache, but the issue still persists.
3. Secure Folder performance has become very laggy Before the update, Secure Folder was smooth and responsive. Since updating to One UI 8.5, it has become noticeably laggy, with slower animations and reduced overall performance.
I hope Samsung acknowledges these issues and releases a fix in a future software update. If anyone else using One UI 8.5 on the Galaxy F06 5G is facing the same problems, please let me know so we can determine whether this is a widespread issue.
