      I see no reason for it to be dead. Its a shame that very few people know about it, because it is a really useful app. And it does get regular updates, so yes. And people outside India use it a lot.

      You can use link to windows app if you have windows laptop

      You can use Link to windows feature in Notification pannel, by that you can cast screen to your windows laptop and wirelessly transfer files.
