​Subject: Unfair Denial of Free Screen Replacement for S23 Green Line Issue (UAE Unit)

​Hi everyone,

​I am writing this to bring attention to a very disappointing experience I’m having with Samsung Gulf Support regarding a green line issue on my Galaxy S23.

​Immediately after a recent software update, a vertical green line appeared across my screen. My phone has never been dropped, knocked, or subjected to any physical damage. Despite this, when I visited the Samsung Authorized Service Center in the UAE, the technician denied a free replacement or discount, claiming the device had "dents and physical damage." I inspected the phone carefully—there are no dents or damage. The device has been well-maintained, and this line is clearly a post-update hardware malfunction, not user abuse.

​What makes this even more frustrating is the inconsistency in customer care policies across regions. Samsung India explicitly offers a free one-time screen replacement for devices facing this exact post-update defect within three years of purchase. However, because my unit was purchased in the UAE, Samsung India cannot service it, and Samsung Gulf is refusing to honor a similar policy—wrongfully citing physical damage on a flawless device.

​For a flagship device like the Galaxy S23, having the screen fail immediately after an official update—and then being turned away with unsupported claims of physical damage—is completely unacceptable.

​I urge the Samsung Gulf support team to escalate this case, re-inspect my device fairly, and provide a resolution consistent with Samsung’s global commitment to fixing known display defects caused by updates.

​Has anyone else in the UAE managed to get their screen replaced for the green line issue? Any advice on how to escalate this to Samsung Gulf management would be greatly appreciated.
